CRÉATIONS EN POILS D'ANIMAUX FEUTRÉS

Questions & Answers

What is the production time?

The standard production time is two to three business days for most models. However, this timeframe is subject to  variation depending on the current volume of orders. Please note that this production time does not include shipping and delivery times, which depend on the chosen delivery service and your location.

Will you return the unused fur from my creation?

Yes, of course. All remaining fur will be returned to you unless you instruct otherwise.

Do I really have to wait to grieve or for my companion's final moments to consider a keepsake creation?

Of course not! While it's true that this option is often chosen during times of loss, the question is: why wait for such a sorrowful moment? Instead, imagine the joy of having a beautiful piece, created from your faithful friend's fur, that evokes happy memories of your shared life. A tangible testament to your love, available right now. I invite you to read Camylle's testimonial. The choice is yours, of course. Either way, the final creation will be a timeless and emotional keepsake. The real question is this: which memory do you want to honor? There is no right or wrong decision, only the one that resonates most deeply with you. Listen to your heart.

My personal experience: if I had a piece like this with me after my canine angel's passing, when I left the vet's office, I would have had something concrete to hold onto during that day that broke my heart into a thousand pieces.

How do I place an order?

The first step is to contact me, and I will give you complete instructions. For a quick response, contact me directly via my Facebook or Instagram page. You can also use the 'Contact' page.

How much fur is needed?
The required amount varies depending on the chosen model and the type of your pet's coat. For a precise estimate, contact me with a photo of your pet and a few answers to some questions.

How do I collect the fur?
The fur can be collected by brushing or by cutting a lock of hair. This is a case-by-case situation, so by contacting me, we can discuss the optimal method for your beloved animal. If your pet has passed away, I can use fur provided by your veterinarian in most situations.

Can I mix the fur of several animals?
Yes, it is possible to mix the fur of several animals in a single creation or to create a piece with several balls, each containing the fur of a different animal.

How do I send you the fur? I only accept shipments by mail or by carrier at your discretion. However, if you feel like taking a beautiful trip to my part of the country to hand-deliver the precious fur to me, I will be happy to meet you. I work with clients in Canada and elsewhere under certain conditions. The detailed information and shipping procedure will be communicated to you during our conversation.

My animal has passed away, and I have very little fur. Is it still possible to create a keepsake? Even with a small amount of fur, it is possible to create a keepsake. I will guide you toward a model that requires less fur.

Are your creations durable? My creations are designed to last. The fur balls are covered with a hardener that preserves their appearance. However, this is a precious keepsake, so avoid exposure to water, wearing it while sleeping, or during sports or other messy activities.

How are the balls created? I card the fur (preparation for felting). I use two felting techniques: needle felting, then wet felting with water and soap. After drying, the balls are covered with a hardener. Finally, the balls are assembled according to the chosen model.

Why is the color of my pet's fur sometimes different from the color of the finished creation? To prepare the fur for felting, the first step is carding. This involves using large, special brushes, called carders, to detangle and align the fur. Once prepared in this way, the fur can be worked and felted more easily. If the fur has several colors, like a cat's tabby coat, for example, carding will mix these colors. It's a bit like mixing paints: if you mix red and yellow, you get orange. With fur, mixing the different shades creates a new color.
